Governorate prices and the branch map

How a delivery company sets a fixed price per governorate and how the system turns it into a parcel fare, and how to open the branch map and what each marker shows.

Purpose#

This page covers two governorate-related things in the delivery-company panel: the governorate price table that a company relies on when it chooses the pricing method Fixed amount per governorate, and the branch map, which shows your active branches on a Google map. The other pricing methods (by weight or distance) are explained in the guide "Company delivery pricing methods".

Who can access it#

  • Governorate prices: on the Delivery pricing page. A company admin edits the company's own prices, a merchant who owns a private delivery company edits that company's prices, and the super admin opens any company from the companies list.
  • Branch map: from the Map Show button on the Branch list under Branch Manage (which needs hub_read). The page needs a Google Maps key (see the guide "Notifications, push messages and Google Maps settings").

The fourteen governorates#

The system uses a table of 14 Syrian governorates, shown by their Arabic names on the page. If the table is empty in the database, a warning asks you to run a database update to fill it; tell the platform operator.

Set a price per governorate#

  1. Open Delivery pricing and choose the method

Use the side menu. Under Calculation method pick the card Fixed amount per governorate. The governorate table is shown only when this method is selected.

  2. Enter the price under Governorate prices for this company

Type the amount in US dollars in each governorate's box (zero or more is accepted). Leave the box empty if the company does not deliver to that governorate; it shows the placeholder No delivery. On the same page you can also set Base fee per parcel ($) and Minimum fee ($).

  3. Save and test

Press Save and "Delivery pricing saved" appears. Then open a new-parcel form from a merchant account and watch the suggested price.

  1. Base fee, then the minimum fee
  2. The delivery price for each governorate
  3. Courier commission share
  4. Save the pricing
Setting delivery prices (demo data)

An empty box deletes the saved price for that governorate (so there is no delivery to it), while zero means delivery for the base fee only.

How the system uses the price#

  • Fare = base fee + the recipient governorate's price, raised to the minimum fee if lower. Weight plays no part in this method.
  • The recipient's governorate is determined in this order: the city or governorate field, then the address text, then the map pin (the nearest governorate centre, approximate, and not working outside Syria's bounds).
  • The same server-side calculation powers the price preview in the merchant panel (POST /api/v1/quote for integrations) and the saving of the parcel. The company's coverage, which the super admin sets, is checked before it.
  • The new-parcel form in the merchant panel has a Governorate list with Automatic from location. Choose a governorate if the company prices by governorate and the address or map pin does not make it obvious; otherwise it is detected automatically.

The branch map#

  1. Open the branch list

Open Branch Manage and then Branch in the menu.

  2. Press Map Show

The map opens in a new tab with one marker for each active branch of your company, placed at the coordinates saved on the branch, and nearby markers are clustered.

  3. Press a branch marker

It shows the branch name, phone and address, then "Parcels TrackingID" followed by the number of parcels and their tracking numbers.

  • A branch's coordinates are saved from the branch form (search by address then Enter, or pick a point on the map).
  • The map does not zoom to your branches automatically, so zoom and pan to find the markers.
  • The system links a branch to a governorate automatically when it is saved if the address contains «محافظة …» or "… Governorate". The older Store Syria interface uses this to choose a default branch when hub_id is missing.

Common mistakes#

  • Leaving a governorate empty and being surprised by the refusal. The message "has not set a price for governorate …" appears and the parcel is not created.
  • The governorate cannot be determined. The message "we could not determine the recipient governorate from the address … — choose the governorate from the list." appears; pick the governorate manually.
  • An empty or grey branch map. The Google Maps key is missing or invalid, or there are no active branches with coordinates.
  • Mixing up the platform's default price and your company's price. The default cost column of the governorates table has no screen to edit it and your company's prices do not use it; only the older Store Syria path reads it.
  • Expecting the map to show only current parcels. The list in the marker window includes every parcel ever recorded against the branch.

Limits and permissions#

  • Each company has its own price table, one price per governorate.
  • Only active branches are shown, and only the company's own.
  • For delivery areas and the coverage check see the guide "Delivery areas on the map and the coverage check".
