Courier fleet view and the parcel map

Two maps of couriers and parcels: live tracking and the Map Show button on the parcels list: what each shows, who opens it and how fresh the data is.

Purpose#

The platform offers two ways to see couriers and parcels on a map: the live courier view («تتبّع المناديب», courier tracking) and the older Map Show button on the parcels list. This page explains what each shows, who can open it and how fresh its data is. The details of live tracking and what the courier app sends are in the guide "Live courier tracking on the map".

Who can access it#

Tool Who opens it
Courier tracking and GET /api/v10/tracking/fleet Company staff (admin, in-charge, hub) and a merchant who owns a private delivery company; requires the live_tracking plan feature
The Map Show button on the parcels list Shown to anyone with parcel_create

The live courier view#

From «تتبّع المناديب» in the company menu (or under My delivery company for a merchant) you see only your company's couriers, each with status, last position, speed, battery and the parcels they carry (delivery or pickup). The states are «متصل» (online) when the last position is within 2 minutes, «عم يتحرّك» (moving) when online at 3 km/h or more, «خامل» (idle) within 15 minutes, then «غير متصل» (offline), and «ما بعت موقعه لسا» (never sent) for a courier who has sent nothing.

  • Freshness: the page refreshes itself every 15 seconds while the browser tab is visible, and the position shown is the latest reading received from the app (the tracking settings ask it to send every 20 seconds).
  • Filters: counters above the list (All, online, moving, idle, offline) and a search by name, phone or tracking number.
  • Staff and merchant API clients can read the same data at GET /api/v10/tracking/fleet. It needs the apiKey header and an access token of a staff or merchant account, it is limited to 30 requests per minute, and it answers HTTP 403 when the account has no delivery company or the plan lacks the live_tracking feature.

The Map Show button on the parcels list#

  1. Open the parcels list

Choose Parcels from the menu. The Map Show button appears next to the bulk-assign tools for anyone with parcel_create.

  2. Press the button

A Google map opens in a new tab (it needs the company's Google Maps key) with a marker for each courier who has a saved location, and nearby markers are clustered.

  3. Press a courier marker

It shows the courier's photo, name and phone, and "TrackingID" followed by the number of parcels and their tracking numbers.

  • A marker sits at the location saved on the courier record: either the location the staff entered on the courier form, or the latest live reading when live tracking is running. The page does not update the location itself, so reload it to see new positions. A courier with no saved location does not appear.
  • Parcels are grouped by the pickup courier recorded in the parcel's history; parcels assigned for delivery have no pickup courier recorded, so a courier whose parcels are only for delivery may not appear; use «تتبّع المناديب» for them.

Common mistakes#

  • A grey or empty map. The Google Maps key is missing or invalid; see the guide "Notifications, push messages and Google Maps settings".
  • A courier missing from Map Show. Either no saved location, or no pickup parcels assigned right now.
  • Seeing «تتبّع المناديب مو ضمن باقتك» (not in your plan). The feature is off in the plan; an upgrade is needed.
  • Treating the old page's position as live. It is the last saved position at the time the page was opened.

Limits and permissions#

  • «تتبّع المناديب» shows only your company's couriers and refreshes itself every 15 seconds; the Map Show map does not refresh automatically.
  • Map Show needs a Google Maps key.
  • Map Show works on company domains only.
