Pickup locations: add, edit and use them
How to add, edit and delete pickup locations in the merchant panel, how their details are copied into each parcel and used for distance pricing, plus the plan limit and the default location.

Purpose#
A pickup location is the place where the delivery company collects your parcels: a name, a phone number, an address and, optionally, a point on the map. You choose one every time you create a parcel, and its details are copied into the parcel. This guide shows how to add, edit and delete locations and how they are used.
Who can use it#
Merchant accounts. You manage only your own locations. The number of locations you may add depends on your merchant plan.
What you need#
- An active subscription, like the rest of the panel (a current merchant plan when the platform offers plans; for a merchant of a delivery company, the company's subscription).
- For each location: a name, a contact phone (digits only, 9 to 15 digits) and an address.
- A point on the map if your delivery company prices by distance: without it the parcel is refused, see below.
Steps#
Open the page
In the side menu, under Settings, press Pickup locations. The page, titled Pickup Point List, shows a table with #, Name, Contact, Address, Status and Actions, 10 locations per page. A yellow note "No location on the map — edit it to calculate the distance" marks a location that has no map point.
Add a location
Press the + button (tooltip Add). On Create Pickup Point fill in Name, Contact, Address and Status (Active is preselected). For the address, type it and press the search button, or click the map, or drag the marker, or press the crosshair button ("My current location"; the browser must allow location access over HTTPS). Searching, clicking the map, dragging the marker and the crosshair button all replace the text in the address box with the address returned by the map service, so check and edit it before you press Save. The line under the map reads "Location set ✓" once a point is chosen. Press Save; the message "Pickup Point successfully added." appears.
Edit a location
In the row, open the Actions menu and press Edit. On Edit Pickup Point change the fields and press Save Change.
Use it when creating a parcel
In New parcel, choose the location in Where do we pick up the parcel? (pickup location). Its address and phone appear under the list, with the Manage pickup locations link. Only Active locations are listed.
Delete a location you no longer use
Open the Actions menu and press Delete; the message "Pickup Point successfully deleted." appears.
- Choose the pickup place
- Choose the delivery company
- Enter the recipient's name and phone
- Set the cash-on-delivery amount
- Your invoice number, to recognise the parcel later
Expected result: the location appears in the table and in the New parcel list while its status is Active.
How a location is used#
- Copied into the parcel: when you save a parcel, the location's address, phone and map point are copied into it. Changing or deleting the location later does not change parcels you already created; their details page keeps the saved address (the location name there is read from the location, and shows a dash ("—") if it was deleted).
- Pricing by distance: if the delivery company prices by distance, the location's map point is used. If it has none, the parcel is refused with: "The delivery company prices by distance, and the pickup location "…" has no location on the map. Edit it from the pickup locations page and set its location on the map." (Before refusing, the system falls back to the hub point of your account, when it has one.)
- Coverage: the sender's governorate is checked against the delivery company's coverage when it can be determined.
- No location chosen (for example through the API): a parcel created without a location takes the account's default location, otherwise the first one. The API lists your locations (including inactive and warehouse ones, flagged by
activeandwarehouse_id) withGET /api/v1/pickup-locations, default first, and acceptspickup_location_idwhen creating a parcel. It needs an API key and, when the platform offers merchant plans, a plan that includes the API feature; it is not available to merchants of a delivery company. - The default location is created automatically with the merchant account: it carries the business name, is flagged as the default, and is filled with the registration address and mobile number when the sign-up provides them. The merchant panel has no button to change it; the company's staff can change it from the merchant's page.
The plan limit#
Your merchant plan sets how many pickup locations you may have (there is no limit when the platform has no active merchant plans). When you reach it, saving fails with "Something went wrong." and an error toast titled "Error reason" («سبب الخطأ» in the Arabic interface) says: "Your plan allows N pickup locations only, and you have M. Upgrade the plan to add more locations." When the platform has merchant plans, an account without a merchant plan subscription (for example a merchant of a delivery company, who has no platform plan) cannot add locations and the toast says: "No active merchant plan subscription — subscribe first to be able to add pickup locations." A reference code follows the text. Locations created from a warehouse reservation are not counted.
Common mistakes#
- No point on the map: typing the address is not enough for distance pricing; click the map or use the search so that "Location set ✓" appears.
- The location is missing from New parcel: its status is Inactive. Edit it and set Active.
- The phone is rejected: use digits only (no plus sign or spaces), 9 to 15 digits.
- You cannot edit or delete a location: a location created from a warehouse reservation is managed by the platform administration; the message that explains it appears in Arabic only.
Limits and permissions#
- You see, edit and delete only your own locations; there is no permission setting for merchants here.
- The map search covers Syria only.
