News and offers: where they appear, how they are read and who publishes them

How to reach the news and offers page from the notification bell, what each card contains, how read state works, who sees which offer, and the bell's limits.

Purpose#

The merchant panel shows the latest news and offers published by the delivery company whose site you sign in from, or by the platform administration. The bell icon alerts you to new items, you read each one in full on a single page, and what you open is recorded as read.

Who can use it#

Every merchant account in the merchant panel, with an active merchant plan (or your company's active subscription for a company merchant) like the rest of the panel's pages. Each merchant sees only the offers addressed to them (see "Who sees which offer?"). A merchant cannot publish or edit; offers are published by the delivery company from its panel, or by the super admin from the platform panel.

Steps#

  1. Notice the bell badge

In the top bar the number of unread notifications appears ("9+" if there are more than nine). Each new offer shows in the bell menu with the label "New offer", its title, its publisher and its time.

  2. Open the offers page

Click an offer in the bell menu, or News and offers at the bottom of the menu. The page opens titled "Offers" with the line: "Latest news and offers from your delivery company and the platform team."

  3. Read the cards

Each offer is a card, newest first, 10 cards per page with page links.

  4. Mark everything as read (optional)

The bell menu has a "Mark all as read" button, shown when there are unread notifications.

What a card contains#

Item Details
Image Shown at the top of the card if an image that actually exists was uploaded for the offer.
Title The offer's title.
Publisher and date The author's name, and the offer's date as entered by the publisher.
Text Formatted text (written by the publisher in a rich-text editor) that the system displays as written; it can include images.

There are no separate content types: a "news item" and an "offer" are published with the same form and appear in the same list.

Who sees which offer?#

  • A delivery company's offer: reaches all of its merchants, or the merchants the company selected.
  • A platform administration offer: reaches all merchants, or the merchants of selected companies, or selected merchants.
  • Inactive offers are not shown to any merchant.
  • Your company is determined by the site you signed in from; if the site is not recognised, by the company your account is registered with.

Expected result#

  • After you open the page its visible cards (up to 10) are marked as read, and the bell badge goes down. Read state belongs to your account alone.
  • The page itself has no read or unread marker; the state shows in the bell only.

Common mistakes#

  • "No offers or news right now." It means no active offer is addressed to you; it is not a fault. Under it: "Offers are published by your delivery company or the platform team from “News & offers”, and show up here automatically."
  • An offer your company published does not show for you: it may be addressed to selected merchants you are not among, or it is inactive.
  • An old offer does not show in the bell: the bell lists only the last 14 days; you find it on the page.

Limits and permissions#

  • The bell shows at most 5 offers, never one you wrote yourself, and counts them in its badge with the other notifications (system and support). It lists nothing older than 14 days, nor older than the notifications reset date if that is more recent.
  • The news-and-offers endpoint of the mobile API (for authenticated API clients) returns all offers visible to you, newest first and not paginated, with each offer's text stripped of formatting tags.
