Connect a Salla store with a link code

Purpose#

A Salla store is connected through the Delivery Syria app in Salla's App Store, using a one-time link code from your account. After that, every Salla order whose customer chose Delivery Syria shipping and that is eligible (see the table below) becomes a parcel. While the option "Send shipment status back to the store" is on (the default), a shipment is created in Salla, its status follows the parcel's status, and the tracking link is sent to it.

Who can use it and what you need#

• A platform merchant account that is active and verified, with an active merchant profile. The Store integrations page, where you finish the setup, is closed to merchants created by a delivery company.
• At least one active pickup location (the system message calls it a "branch").
• A plan that includes Store integrations and has room under "Number of connected stores". Reconnecting the same store is not counted.
• The app installed in your Salla store. The platform administrator sets up the app credentials on the platform.

Connection steps#

1. Install the app in Salla

   In your Salla dashboard open the App Store, search for Delivery Syria, press Install and approve the permissions.

2. Get a link code

   Salla asks for a link code. In Store integrations, on the Salla card, press Get a Salla link code; a page opens in a new tab. The code looks like XXXX-XXXX, is valid for 10 minutes and works once. Each time you open the page it issues a new code and cancels the previous one.

3. Paste the code in Salla

   Paste the code in Salla's link code field and press Activate the App.

4. Choose the delivery company and pickup location

   Your store appears under "Your connected stores". Choose "Delivery company for this store orders" and "Pickup location", then press Save. Until you do, the page shows a warning and orders fail with a message starting "إعداد المتجر ناقص:" (store setup incomplete).

5. Enable Delivery Syria as a shipping company in Salla

   In Salla's shipping settings enable Delivery Syria so customers can choose it at checkout.

6. Try an order

   Order from your store choosing Delivery Syria shipping. The Salla card lists the latest Salla orders received, with the result of each event.

Expected result#

The Salla card shows a "Connected" badge and a connection-health bar. The platform handles orders like this:

When the parcel is created, and while "Send shipment status back to the store" is on, a shipment is created in Salla and its status follows the parcel: pickup and warehouse stages in_progress, transfer between hubs in_transit, arrival at the hub received_at_final_hub, delivery courier assigned delivering, rescheduling to_be_reattempted, delivered delivered, partially delivered partially_delivered, returns return_in_progress, back with the merchant return_to_origin. Other statuses, such as "Pending" and the cancellations, are not sent. If the option is off, no shipment is created in Salla and no status is sent; for a parcel awaiting wallet funds, the shipment is created only after the parcel completes. After a final status Salla does not accept going back, so a message asks for manual review. The tracking link sent is the public tracking page of the parcel, and a job every 15 minutes resends statuses that did not arrive for orders updated in the last 30 days. Inside Salla the app also opens the «المحافظ» (Wallets) and «الطرود المعلّقة» (Pending parcels) pages.

Disconnecting, reconnecting and changing account#

• Uninstalling the app in Salla marks the store as uninstalled, clears the tokens and suspends the connection with the message "The Delivery Syria app was removed from the Salla store." When you reinstall, the platform reactivates the connection once Salla sends the authorization again; if it does not appear, get a new code.
• The Delete button on the page removes the connection and its orders that have no parcel; it does not uninstall the app from Salla. The platform stops converting Salla orders into parcels until the connection is created again, with a new link code or by re-authorizing the app in Salla.
• Changing account: if you link the same store with a code from another account, the store moves to that account and the delivery company and pickup location are cleared.
• The token renews automatically. If Salla refuses the renewal, open the app from Installed apps in Salla and approve the permissions again, or press «جدّد الآن» (Refresh now) if it expired.

Common mistakes#

Security and limits#

• Every Salla event must carry either a valid X-Salla-Signature (HMAC-SHA256 of the request body) or the shared secret in the Authorization header; otherwise it is rejected with HTTP 401. Tokens are stored encrypted and removed from the event log, and the code itself is not stored, only a fingerprint of it, so do not share it.
• The code page is not cached and cannot be shown in a frame, and the embedded app verifies with Salla before opening a session of 120 minutes.
• Code page: 30 requests per minute. Event receiving: 600. Link endpoint: 60.
• These appear in Arabic only, even in the English interface (the English quotes above are translations): the link-code, unlinked-store, other-shipping-company, order-status and suspended-connection messages, the «جدّد الآن» button, and the titles of the «المحافظ» and «الطرود المعلّقة» pages.
